Gemotions

He watched the team celebrate from the bleachers, the cheers a distant, meaningless roar. His own body felt detached, as if he were observing himself from a great distance. He’d poured everything into this – the grueling practices, the strict diet, the endless drills – and for what? A hollow ache settled in his chest, a feeling of emptiness that seemed to drain the color from the world. He ran a hand through his hair, finding it heavy and tangled, as if the very strands themselves were exhausted.
